The Klamath Basin Chapter will host a public presentation about the Klamath River Dam Removal Project, focusing on the John C. Boyle Project Area in Oregon. The presentation will take place in the large meeting room at the rear of the Klamath County Museum on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 6 p.m. The presenter, Robert Roninger, is a Fish Biologist with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Lakeview District, Klamath Falls Field Office (KFFO).
The BLM - Klamath Falls Field Office has acted as a contributor to, and partner in, the recent Klamath Dam Removal Project. The KFFO focused on plan development, oversight and monitoring of the John C. Boyle (JCB) Project Area in Oregon. The KFFO has worked closely with the Klamath River Renewal Corporation, McMillen, Kiewit, Resource Environmental Solutions (RES) LLC, AECOM and Camas Environmental Professionals, as well as with Tribes, Federal and State agencies.
Kiewit completed their part of the JCB Project area work, de-mobilized in September 2024, and RES is diligently working on restoration efforts currently. KFFO specialists will continue to monitor restoration efforts and fish/wildlife populations, and assist RES, Agencies and Tribes with other duties as needed for the following several years.
The Chapter will conduct a short member meeting after the presentation.
