Work Party at the Klamath County Museum Native Plant Beds

  • October 18, 2026
  • 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Klamath County Museum

Chapter members are planning to clean up the native plant rock gardens at the front of the Museum on Sunday afternoon, October 18th, starting at 10 am. The extended forecast suggests temperature will be cool , but will reach 71° with sunny skies, so excellent "gardening" weather. Members will trim back and "dead-head" native plants in advance of winter, continue to reduce the the volume of weeds and enhance the appearance of the existing native plant beds.

The work party also presents opportunity to work with knowledgeable members, get an update on (and view) the plant ID signs the chapter installed this summer, learn about additional signing coming to the Museum in 2027 - AND - use the day to perhaps collect some native plants seeds for potential distribution at your home or property.

Participants should bring work gloves and their favorite weeding implement and ample water. A bucket in which to deposit your trimmings weeds would be helpful. The Chapter will work with Museum staff on disposal.
