Volunteer Opportunity - Oregon Tech Native Plant Garden

Learn from an Oregon Tech professor and a US Fish & Wildlife educator about native plant communities in the Klamath Basin. Help beautify the Oregon Tech Native Garden alongside volunteer faculty and students from Oregon Tech.Saturday, April 30th, 2015, 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Native Plant Garden, Oregon Tech campus.

This event provides an opportunity to learn about native gardens, xeriscapes, dangers of alien plants, and benefits of native plants and pollinators. Activities will include clearing the trail system of weeds and planting milkweed, important for monarch butterfly pollination, in the wetland unit of the Native Garden.  Tools will be provided.

Oregon Tech’s Native Garden is located at the northwest corner of campus near Cornett Hall; the prominent hill at that end of campus is the Native Garden. Bring gloves and water, if possible.
